Warm copper and wonderful solid reclaimed French oak – what is there not to love about beautiful natural components like these? Like its relative the Cygnus, this elegant and practical lamp is made from two matching blocks of wood. Cut from the same piece of reclaimed oak, the two elements are separated by a slender copper rod, curved like a scorpion’s tail. However, there is nothing threatening or dangerous about the Scorpius. 

Scorpio is the eighth sign of the Zodiac and is associated with intensity, passion, and power. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a complex, inquisitive, focused, determined, hypnotic, and self-contained character.

In fact, some of these words could easily be used to describe the stylish and modern design of the Scorpius – intensity, passion, power, complex, focused and hypnotic. So it seems I have found the perfect name for this particularly splendid ‘scorpion’.

 

Made from the same piece of oak, the base and the head of the lamp (or the tip of the scorpion’s tail !) are a perfect match. Sanded and polished to an extremely high quality, both pieces of oak are as smooth as glass. Concealed by a piece of bronze/gold-coloured mesh, the bright LEDs light are softened and diffused. The mesh adds a simple, but brilliant, finishing touch. Do you agree?

There’s no sting in the curvaceous tail of this scorpion. Just a unique sensuously smooth and stylish light that will brighten your home and lift your spirits wherever and whenever you use it.
