It’s Time for a Change

LuxSabre – Time for a change

Change is good, right? Well, perhaps not always, but in this case, it definitely is. Much as I absolutely adore what I do in my little rural France world, creating unique lighting and working on other unusual projects, I’ve always felt that something was missing. Obviously more woodworking tools, workshop space and dogs have always been on the list, but there is something way more important than all of those (except for the dogs). A name, a brand, an image – an identity.

And so, Luxsabre is born!

Lux Who?

Lux : NOUN plural noun lux (also lx)

Meaning : the SI unit of illuminance, equal to one lumen per square metre.

Origin : Late 19th century from Latin, literally ‘light’.

‘Lux’ means light, or a measurement of light. And if you know me then you know what I do. I make lights, unusual lights, totally by hand. That’s what I’ve been doing for many years and I’m not stopping. As for the ‘Sabre’ part, well that’s just a cool word and has absolutely nothing (everything!) to do with my love of certain sci-fi movies that have lots of errmm… ‘lightsabres’.

Lux Why?

My handmade, unique lighting business has been growing steadily since I started out in 2014. I’ve learnt so much about marketing and had great success with my store on Etsy.com. But as with many ecommerce, or shopping sites, it has its limitations and it’s very impersonal. I now feel that I have outgrown this arena and want to expand – to offer my customers much, MUCH more. Ultimately, I want it to be a more personal experience for me and my customers. I’m not a faceless etsy entity – I’m a man, not a machine.

Lux What?

I’m still going to be here, doing what I love doing best – providing a solution to even the most unusual and unique lighting problems. However, I think there’s now more to it than that. I want to share more about me and my work with the world; tell people more about who I am, what I do and how I do it. Perhaps describe some of the more unusual projects I’m working on, along with snippets about other areas of creativity and inspiration along the way.

Here at Luxsabre.com you can be amongst the first to see my new and exclusive hand-crafted products, that are not available anywhere else in the world – unless one of my customers is selling theirs.

In the Luxopedia area, not only will you be able to read my very interesting blogs, but I’ll also be sharing some of my ‘How To’ YouTube videos, as well as other news, events, special offers and husky taming updates.

Gosh. I honestly feel like my metamorphosis has taken years, but now is definitely the right time for me to move on, rebrand and re-emerge as the bright and shiny Luxsabre.
