If you have seen my other designs of handmade lamps then you will have noticed that I enjoy making both super rustic designs, made from real wooden logs as well as complex sleek styles incorporating a variety of materials and shapes. Sometimes though, ‘simplicity’ is best – nothing else is needed. And I think that’s what I have achieved with my latest design. The Pictor Open LED Cube lamp that you can literally see straight through. What could be more simple?

But, it gets better than that. What if the cube emitted a magical soft glow of light from within? Think Pandora’s box – beautiful, tempting and possibly concealing a wonderful secret.

 

What makes this modern wooden lamp appear to mysteriously generate light is the fact that you really can see straight through it. There’s minimal cabling and no obvious lightbulb anywhere to be seen. The totally see through design makes it just perfect and adaptable for any room or office style. Display it on a shelf backed by your favourite designer wallpaper and what do you see? Your favourite designer wallpaper – only brighter!

This open LED cube lamp is handmade from solid wood and finished with a stylish, metallic steel coloured wax. Frosted Perspex is set flush in the top of the lamp, concealing the LED light source, whilst softly and simultaneously dispersing the light in all directions.
